Introduction: History, Ethos & Aims

History

Prospect House School opened as a full preparatory school in 1991 and is a member of IAPS (Independent Association of Preparatory Schools). It has two sister schools, Bassett House School in Kensington (founded in 1947) and Orchard House School in Chiswick (founded in 1993), both of which take children until age 11 when they leave for their senior schools.

There are currently 180 children (both boys and girls) at Prospect House and the ratio of boys to girls is approximately equal throughout the school.

Ethos & Aims

Prospect House pupils enjoy coming to school and take full advantage of a broad based curriculum as well as numerous extra curricular activities. Our aim is for all pupils to be happy and fulfilled so they may reach their potential across all areas of the curriculum thereby becoming confident, creative and independent learners. Teaching is supportive yet challenging and always takes into account the individual needs of the children. We also strive to develop self-respect along with a strong sense of moral values so that our pupils can become responsible and involved members of society. Underpinning all aspects of school life is an ethos which shows mutual respect and concern for all members of the school community and fosters close relationships between school and home.

A detailed statement of the school's Aims and Ethos policy is available on request.

The chairman of the governing body is Mr Anthony Rentoul. His address is 25 Strawberry Hill Road, Twickenham TW1 4PZ.
