Children may be left at school from 8.10am. They must not enter the building or be left outside before this time, as there is no supervision available. From 8.10am to 8.30am the children are supervised by a member of staff in the playground, apart from Nursery children who go straight to their classrooms. At 8.30am all other children are collected by their teacher and escorted to their classrooms. All children must be at school by no later than 8.40am or they will be recorded as late in the attendance register.

Siblings of children taking part in early morning activities e.g. judo club, running club or choir may be dropped off from 7.50am. However, this early facility is not available for every child and other parents must not attempt to leave their children at this time, as there will be insufficient staff on duty to supervise.

Children are greeted in the morning by the Head or a senior member of staff. They are expected to shake hands and to say good morning to whoever is on duty.

If your child arrives at school after registration has closed he or she must report to the school office so that the office staff can complete the register.

When dropping off children in the morning by car, please enter by the left hand north gate and leave via the south gate. Please ensure that you drive through the driveway very slowly and stop at the white stop line to prevent traffic backing up into the road. Children should alight quickly and go straight through the side gate and into the playground. Please do not drive into the school grounds and leave your car unattended.

The departure times at the end of the school day are staggered in order to minimise traffic congestion. Parents are asked not to park in the school car park at departure times.

Nursery children (or Reception children on Wednesdays in the autumn term only) attending for morning sessions depart at 12.00 noon.

Lower School
Reception, Year 1 and 2 depart at 3.00pm

Upper School
Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 depart at 3.30pm

A ‘Late Class’ operates from 3.00 to 3.15pm for those children in Reception, Years 1 and 2 who have siblings in Years 3 to 6.

Children must not leave the school premises until they have shaken hands with their class teacher and said goodbye.

If there is any change in the collection arrangements for your child the school must be notified in writing (by email, letter, or the message book). If you are unavoidably detained for any reason and will be late collecting your child, please let the office know. This is particularly important for younger children who can become very anxious if they are not collected at the expected time.
