As part of their Under the Sea topic, Reception went on an exciting trip to Chessington. The children began by having a talk about Blacktip Reef sharks where they learned fascinating facts such as how there are over 500 shark species and that they breathe through their gills under the water.
Reception then had the chance to explore more marine life up close, spotting stingrays, a zebra shark, seahorses, eels, and many more incredible sea creatures. The adventure continued as they saw playful sea lions and waddling penguins. To conclude the day, they visited the zoo and saw sleeping lions and a family of gorillas, including an excitable baby gorilla.
