Huge congratulations to all the children who took part in Tuesday’s magnificent carol service. The quality of the singing was superb, the orchestra was on top form, and the readings were clear and heartfelt. Equally impressive was the military precision of the children’s movement around the church, which added immeasurably to the occasion. For many, the highlight of the evening was Drew Deacon’s exquisite and nerveless solo verse to Once in Royal David’s City – one of the best on record.
