Year 5 had a very warm but enjoyable day at the Oval as part of the Surrey Schools day. A total of 5,200 children from over 100 local schools were invited to watch Durham v Surrey on the 2nd day of the county championships. It turned out to be a record-breaking day (not just with the heat!) as when we arrived two Surrey batsmen scored a double century and Surrey ended up making history with 820 runs. Ice creams all round before the children headed back to school!
