Year 5 were thrilled to be joined by the author of one of their favourite texts that we have studied this year, Our Tower, by Joseph Coelho. He kindly took time out of his busy schedule to talk to the students for a special session.

It was a truly insightful experience. Mr Coelho discussed his writing process and shared the inspiration for the book, and the children asked some very thoughtful and interesting questions about his craft and the stories he creates. He also offered inspiring advice by speaking about his own life, from his early childhood (very nearby to Putney!) to the moment he decided to become an author. He particularly enjoyed answering the class’s eloquent questions and hearing some of their writing that was inspired by his story. We even got a sneak peek into his newest book!
