All across the school last week we celebrated Sustainability Week and our theme this year was rainforests.
In the Lower School, the children took part in a workshop about how they can look after the planet and learned all about the the importance of safeguarding rainforest habitats for the future. They collected recycled materials from home and school to create beautiful artworks which will be hung in the corridors.
The older students in the Upper School began the week with an assembly from Eco-Committee about how to help the environment through our actions at school. They created informative, well-designed posters about endangered animals as well as rainforest collages using recycled materials. Their workshop sessions included drama activities and group discussions about ways in which we can look after our planet.
Finally, we all came together to create a whole-school collaborative poem about rainforests!
