Year 4 have been transported back to Anglo-Saxon England during their history workshop day.

The morning was spent making wax candles, using a pestle and mortar to create ink, using a hammer and metal to form a brooch and even practising some traditional Anglo-Saxon marching formations. In the afternoon, they became mini archaeologists and were able to dig through soil to find artefacts from different settings and guess which area they had come from. The day finished by watching a real life demonstration of metal casting which created a Saxon amulet!
