Why choose Prospect House?

We firmly believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to education and have developed a fully individualised learning programme that forms the cornerstone of our teaching philosophy. With care and attention, the right balance of support and challenge, the children can blossom to become the best version of themselves and reach their full potential.

This begins in Nursery: teachers identify individual strengths and areas for growth enabling them to tailor the activities to engage and challenge from day one. It is recognised that every child’s learning journey is unique and that some children develop at different speeds as they transition through their school years.

Kelly Gray, our headteacher, has built on the foundation of smaller groups for the teaching of English and maths to promote the use of daily timetabled 30-minute ‘intervention’ lessons. This allows for tailored instruction throughout Key Stage 2 that can either stretch those ready for more or provide support in an individualised target area and is based on careful ongoing gap analysis. For more able pupils, we offer pathways in art, music, sport, English and maths from age seven onwards. These sessions provide opportunities for deeper exploration and enrichment with dedicated scholarship groups for the older children.

Individualised learning is not just a concept at Prospect House; it is a practice that we implement at every stage of education.

After Prospect House

Our children progress onto a wide range of excellent secondary schools in London and Surrey including Epsom College, King’s College Wimbledon, Latymer Upper School, St John’s, Leatherhead and St Paul’s. While our 11+ leavers’ destination lists tell their own story, we are also proud of our record in securing a range of scholarships including academic, all-rounder, drama, sport and music.

Our approach to continuous learning and high standards is one of the reasons our children achieve such excellent 11+ results. We also endeavour to support families through the process from providing individualised suggested school lists based on academic progress and trajectory thus far through to 1:1 meetings with our headteacher to talk through which schools would be the best fit for their child’s personality and interests.
