Consisting of pupils from Years 4, 5 and 6, our team started their first competition together by playing with passion and skill in the AFC Wimbledon football tournament.
Inspired by their new ‘Dutch’ football kit, the girls won their group by winning three games and drawing one. This included spirited 6-0 and 4-0 victories over Allfarthing School and Penwortham School. Advancing to the quarter finals, a last minute winner against Hillbrook School saw the team celebrate in style. The semi final was unfortunately a step too far as the girls lost 2-1 to a very good Bishop Gilpin School side.
Overall, the girls had a really positive experience that will stand the team well for future tournaments.
