Time and Abandonment : a double exhibition
We are holding an upcoming exhibition of work by children on the Art Pathway at Prospect House.
The Pathway is open to children in Year 3 – 6 who have either demonstrated a particular skill in an area of art or shown a passion for art within lessons. It enables them to enhance their understanding of what it means to be an independent artist with an emphasis on self-directed learning.
Each term we set a theme to explore in any artistic direction: it could be a sculpture, a painting or a series of photographs, for example. The pupils meet weekly with our Head of Art, Mr Paul Clavis, and partake of group seminar sessions where they discuss their ideas collaboratively. Over the course of the term, the children develop their ideas and visit relevant galleries or shows before creating a final piece.
