Weeks of p-r-a-c-t-i-c-e culminated in the inaugural Dukes Regional Spelling Bee today, where 20 children representing five school b-a-t-t-l-e-d it out to ‘bee’ the champion. In a hard-fought competition that lasted over an hour, Prospect House came away triumphant by scoring the most points overall. Spellers Bond, Nathaniel, Alma and Isaiah contributed to the total with 25 correctly spelled words. Even more impressively, Year 3 pupil Isaiah was the overall winner out of all 20 children, most of whom were in Year 5 or Year 6. Well done to those children for their incredibly hard work and especially to Isaiah.
