Year 5 recently visited Wimbledon Mosque to continue their exploration of Islam. Drawing on knowledge from their RPE (Religion, Philosophy and Ethics) lessons, they were able to answer many of the Imam’s questions.
They focused particularly on three of the Five Pillars of Islam: Zakat (charity), Sawm (fasting), and Hajj (pilgrimage), and were also given the opportunity to see where the washing ritual takes place. The children then thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the range of refreshments generously prepared by the mosque community.
