Year 6 took to the seas and landed in Poole harbour to spend a week at Rockley. They canoed, kayaked, frisbeed and sailed the open seas and made the most incredible memories as a year group. Not only did they take to the activities like an osprey to water and a common tern into the seas, they showed such determination and resilience with every new skill and instruction.

They enjoyed marquee singing, ultimate frisbee and a beach barbeque to end what was an unforgettable week for all. With the instructors’ expert assistance, the children learnt how to paddle board, wind surf and sail; they showed off their superb skills in the latter with a huge day trip, sailing to Hamworthy beach on Wednesday and having a sausage roll picnic. We did also have three big birthdays which were celebrated with two renditions of Happy Birthday of which Mr Baker would have been proud!

It was a joy from start to finish, and all the children soaked up the experience fully; all adults, both teachers and the Rockley instructors, were so impressed with their attitude and talent and it was a privilege to accompany them on their (final) residential!
