On Tuesday, all of Year 6 had the exciting opportunity of taking part in a thrilling Dragons’ Den scenario, where in turn, they pitched their £10 Entrepreneurial Challenge businesses to an eminent panel of successful dragons from the fields of business, finance and education.
Each group had clearly worked hard to prepare their engaging and on-point pitches that outlined what their businesses entailed, to which charity they have chosen to donate a portion of their net profits and, of course, the facts and figures of how successful their enterprises have been thus far.
The businesses involved collectible trading cards, aerial photography drone surveys, bakeries, lip balm and bubble bath, vintage clothing, hair scrunchies, chilli oil, slushies and smoothies to name just a few. The Dragons were very impressed by how polished the children’s pitches were and how they had clearly put the required effort into preparing accurate finance reports of their sales and expenditure.
Well done, Year 6! We look forward to hearing about your further business successes in the years to come. Nothing is out of your reach!
A special thank you to our Dragons – Mrs Gray (headteacher), Mr Bullen (bursar) and Mr Hassan (chair of governors).
