This year the annual Year 6 London Trip had an exciting new format based on the BBC series Race Across the World. Our Race Across London was a huge success – it was a hands-on lesson in self-reliance and problem-solving. Designed to build confidence and independence before the transition to secondary school, the trip encouraged the children to take charge, make decisions, and work collaboratively under real-world conditions.
Armed with only a set of clues and their Zip Card, the children had to navigate across various landmarks in the city. Some were iconic, others a little more obscure, which certainly added to the fun. The children had to rely on logic, cooperation, and a good sense of direction to complete the tasks and make it back to school on time. All without the aid of devices or asking for the teachers’ help. A lovely way to round off their time at Prospect House!
