The Bebras Challenge introduces computational thinking to students worldwide. At Prospect House last week, a group of children aged 7 – 11 took part as part of their computing enrichment programme. In previous years, over 3 million pupils from more than 80 countries participated!
The UK Bebras Challenge is organised by the Raspberry Pi Foundation and delivered in partnership with the University of Oxford. The online challenge involves tackling a series of engaging interactive tasks designed to encourage logical thinking and problem-solving skills. These activities are designed to allow every student the opportunity to showcase their potential, whether they excel in maths or computing, or not.
Each participating pupil will receive a certificate (Distinction, Merit or Participation) and a ‘Best in School’ certificate is awarded in each age group category. Additionally, there is the potential for some of our Year 6 students to enter the UK Bebras Coding Challenge in March which is an invitation-only event for students aged 10 – 19 who excel in the UK Bebras Challenge.
