Dukes Education held their tenth birthday celebration at the Royal Festival Hall this week. Over one thousand children from 25 schools (including us!) took part in a spectacular Festival of the Arts in aid of the Dukes Foundation.
Our 75-strong senior choir (all of Year 5 and 6) plus members of staff were involved in this amazing evening. The Prospect House contingent formed part of a mass choir (over 700 children!) that sang music by Aretha Franklin, Elton John and others, accompanied by West End soloists and a 15-piece band. The highlight was surely the extravagant medley of musicals that closed the concert.
Singing to an audience of 2,400 was an experience that the children will most certainly remember for a long. long time. Well done to all and an enormous thank you goes to Mr Baker, our Director of Music, who empowered the children to be such sublime performers!
